book report

I have a summer project.  I intend to read Moby-Dick from start to finish.  As I go I intend to summarize for you, dear reader, each chapter with a series of crappy drawings accompanied by words.  This is not intended to be a substitute for reading the actual book.  It is something I was challenged to do by this guy, an obvious Moby-Dick fan who claims to also like some comics I have drawn.

I use the word "drawn" loosely.  I can't draw for crap, though I enjoy trying.  I just don't try often enough.  I like writing stuff too, but I don't do that often enough to be any good at it either.  So here's me just putting out there, as a way to force myself into creativity, that I am going to write and draw stuff.  Now that I've said it out loud on the tubes I basically have to or I'll look like some kind of asshole.

I may very well do some "blogging" with this thing too, considering that it's a blog and I have two books to finish before I even start my summer book report project, and I don't have regular access to a scanner, but I really can't think of anything I am just itching to get out there, so maybe I will and maybe I won't.  But I do promise you this:  I am going to make you some crappy comics about Moby-Dick.

Be ready.
